This blog’s been a long time coming. I’ve wanted to blog since 2010/2011, but I’ve never gotten around to it (unless you count being a Tumblr (re)blogger since 2009). The biggest thing deterring me from starting my blog was that I wasn’t sure what my purpose was. I’ve juggled a lot of different thoughts on what topics that I wanted to cover on my blog. However, it’s not easy to position myself as something new. With every passing year, the web has become oversaturated with blogs providing articles and posts on everything that I’m interested in- from fitness to fashion to travel to pop culture to news. As all the bases have been covered, I struggled with finding how I could provide something new, fresh, and vibrant.
But, then I remember my individual voice. While there are lots of people interested in and covering the same scope of topics, there are still opportunities for me to stand out from the crowd.
One way is just by being myself.
Yes, that sounds like a suuuuper pretentious claim, but it’s true; the individual is important. And blogs are meant to be distinctive and personal.
If ya never start, you’ll never do it. While this blog might not have a defined purpose (yet), I know I’ll find it on this journey. And, since it’s the first day of summer, I’ve made it my goal to start regularly blogging more. I mean, I spend all my time practicing writing (and grammar) throughout the school year, so why not display it?
As I like spontaneity, I still have no idea what type of posts I’ll have up here. But sometimes you just gotta wing it without a plan. So, let’s see where this goes.
